파라다이스문화재단은 국제 교류 활성화와 문화 예술인 후원에 중점을 두고 있습니다. 세계 속에 한국을 널리 알리고 재능 있는 문화예술인들이 세계 무대에 진출할 수 있도록 지원하는 한편, 다양한 문화를 체험할 수 있도록 문화 예술 토양을 풍요롭게 일구는데 힘써왔습니다. 국제 교류를 위한 재단의 대표적인 활동으로는 다양한 언어권에 우리 문학을 소개하고 다른 언어권의 문화에 대해 이해의 폭을 넓혀 가는 문학교류 프로그램을 꼽을 수 있습니다. 문화재단은 설립 초기부터 문학교류에 힘써왔으며, 일본, 독일, 러시아, 페루 등과 작가 친선 프로그램, 상호 방문 프로그램, 상호 초청 낭독 프로그램, 번역 출판 프로그램 등 다양한 문학 교류 프로그램을 진행한 바 있습니다. 2007년부터 시작된 <한중작가회의> 또한 그 연속선상에 있습니다. 중국과는 지리적으로, 역사적으로 향후 지속적인 교류가 필연적일 수밖에 없습니다. 한국과 중국, 양국의 교류는 향후 작가들의 창작 활동과 새로운 독서 지평을 여는 중요한 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있습니다. 청년 미술 작가 창작 지원 또한 빼놓을 수 없는 중요한 부분입니다. 뉴욕 아트 오마이 프로그램을 예로 들자면, 1997년부터 매년 두 명의 청년 미술 작가를 선발하여 레지던시 프로그램에 참가할 수 있도록 일체의 체류비를 지원하고 있습니다. 아트오마이 공모전으로 개최되는 <Up-And-Comers: 신진기예>전은 경쟁력 있는 작가를 선정하는 동시에, 뉴욕 아트오마이 프로그램을 국내와 연계시키는 그룹전으로 자리잡아가고 있습니다. 이밖에도 문화재단은 파라다이스그룹과 함께 각종 공연 및 문화 예술 행사의 든든한 후원자로서의 역할 또한 충실히 수행하고 있습니다. • • • Paradise Culture Foundation emphasizes the revitalization of international exchange and support of artists. While increasing the awareness of Korea to the rest of the world and supporting talented artists to break into the world stage, the Foundation has also endeavored to enrich the field of art and culture in order to make cultural experiences available. A prime example of the Foundation's work towards international exchange is the cultural exchange program that introduces Korean literature to various regions around the world and widens the understanding of cultures from those regions. Since its establishment, the Foundation endeavored towards cultural exchange and executed many cultural exchange programs such as the artist goodwill program with Japan, Germany, Russia, Peru, etc., mutual visiting programs, mutual recitation programs, and translation publication programs. The Korea-China Literature Conference, started in 2007, is an extension of cultural exchange efforts. Continuous exchange with China is crucial and necessary considering the country's proximity and history with Korea. The exchange between Korea and China is expected to be a significant opportunity to open up new horizons for future artists and their work. Another important aspect of the Foundation's efforts is the support of young artists. For example, since 1997, the New York Art/Omi Program selects two young artists each year to participate in the residency program. The Foundation supports all expenses during their stay. 'Up-And-Comers'exhibition is held as an Art/Omi contest and chooses competitive artists. 'Up-and-Comers'is beginning to establish itself as a group exhibition that connects the New York Art/Omi program and Korea. The Foundation, along with the Paradise Group, is faithfully carrying out its role as a firm supporter of various performances, exhibitions and other art and cultural events.
